Inspiring The Youth with The Kazbah
ABOUT THE BALI LIFE FOUNDATION SHELTER:
This incredibly inspiring youth shelter (3yr - 18yrs) brings in children who have been orphaned, abandoned, abused or rejected into their care from all across Bali and Indonesia. Their mission is to provide physical, spiritual and emotional guidance, as well as education to the children. All to empower them to become independent, responsible and successful citizens who can influence change in their own community, in Bali, in the nation and throughout the world.
MEETING THE KIDS:
We had such an opportune chance to meet the kids, tour their amazing home of 40, bring supplies and gifts and observe their undeniable happiness, excitement and incredible potential. It was comforting to see just how special this place was and you could certainly feel the energy and love in every last area of the property.
OUR CHANCE TO INSPIRE:
Seeing their All-In-One classroom/computer/music lab and library was really when our gears started turning. While checking out very aged chromebook laptops we got to asking questions about their curriculum. We were really thrilled to hear that some of the kids had been learning and excelling Adobe Photoshop on one of the very few actual laptops. To us this was a crystal clear moment to kickoff an initiative we’ve longed to create for a long time, Inspire The Youth! With The Kazbah design & fabrication being totally DYI from the very start we’ve had to learn and master CAD design, engineering, 3D rendering, CNC fabrication and learn from countless hours of problem solving and design fun.
We can now finally use our story to spark the imagination of the youth while teaching them the very tools and resources we used along the way.
Black Lives Matter
In observation of Juneteenth we felt our moral obligation to activate our community, create this video and help create direct donations to the great NAACP during this time of standing up for one another and fight against systemic racism. Thank you for being such an incredible and beautiful community of support.
Donations for Nor Cal fire victims:
Huge thanks to Decompression and San Francisco for having The Kazbah as a stage and allowing us to use this platform to ultimately pack 4 truck loads to the brim of donations for the fire victims.
So Cal Fire Victims
A huge shout out to the undeniable support we’ve been seeing from Los Angeles for our last 3 fundraising events. During the So Cal fires this summer we were able to distribute your donations and water to a local Red Cross center during the peak of the fires in Ventura County.
Los Angeles Homeless Care Packages
With another great turnout for our 3rd LA fundraiser, combined with the rollout of the Kazbah ‘Give Back’ initiative we have raised close to $2,000 in this single night to bring a bit of comfort to the homeless in LA this winter with care packages.
